A look at the 4 revised dungeon boards, mass production commencing this month, manufacturer & shipping company returning to work February 10th
over 4 years ago – Sat, Feb 08, 2020 at 09:48:10 PM

Hello all and good evening. :) Rodger here and I hope everyone is doing great and enjoying the weekend. It's nice to be here with you for this fairly early monthly Dungeon Crusade Kickstarter update but I wanted to get in here and tell you some of the things that have been going on, share a few very awesome things with you and basically keep you in the loop for what's coming up in the near future. The big thing, of course, is mass production that will be commencing this month.

On our last monthly update, it was a few weeks before the Chinese New Year celebration. As you know we are partnered with the most excellent Wingo Games for the manufacturing of the game and we are also partnered with the equally excellent company Send From China for the fulfillment end of it. We first want to say we hope everyone within these 2 companies had a wonderful celebration and time off to relax and enjoy the holiday.

I'm in constant contact with our project manager at the manufacturer and even more so with our shipping manager with the fulfillment service as the game is very close to mass production with fulfillment to follow soon after. They both informed me earlier in the week that they and the rest of the staff will be returning to their offices on February 10th, 2020.

From what I understand, due to the Coronavirus, it was told to them, (and many other companies in China I would imagine) that February 10th is the day to return to work. If we're told anything different from them, I'll, of course, let everyone know, but, as of right now, we are expecting them to return to their offices on February 10th and proceeding with the next steps for the mass production phase.

I have mentioned this in the comment section and a few other places that I, the team, the manufacturer, and the shipping company we are partnered with are monitoring this situation with the Coronavirus very carefully. I have video calls a few times a week with my shipping manager, where we converse on how things are going.

Earlier in the week, I had told some people that I asked her about shipping the game out, and her companies take on the situation. She pointed out that shipping for Dungeon Crusade will not be happening until late March-April (which I have said many times), so we are all hopeful this situation with the Coronavirus will be under control by then.

The shipping company will be informing us throughout this whole process and letting us know what's going on so we can pass every bit of information on to everyone when the shipping of Dungeon Crusade commences. So rest assured, everyone will be in the loop constantly for what's going on.

Lastly, as I mentioned here the other day, all of us hope the best for our partners, friends, and the rest of the fantastic staff in China at the manufacturer and shipping company that they stay safe, healthy, and the medical experts around the world can find a resolution to this situation.

OK, on with the update!

Here is a link to last month's Kickstarter Dungeon Crusade update for you. If you're new to the Dungeon Crusade universe or missed it, I  encourage you to check it out.

I'd like to say at this point being at the end of the project, if you have not seen these mega-ultra updates #92 (part I) & #93 (part II), or if you're new to the Dungeon Crusade universe, go and take a look at those updates first.

Those 2 updates show everything that comprises the game and stands a true testament of all the hard work, creativity, determination, perseverance, and passion that went into creating Dungeon Crusade for everyone.

AND PLEASE REMEMBER! CHECK THE COMMENTS SECTION!

I want everyone to know that's reading this that if you see a delay in the updates, check the comment section. I'm in there every few days seeing what's going on and giving everyone updates on what we are doing, what we're up to, what's getting completed, news, and just everything Dungeon Crusade.

In any case, I just wanted everyone to know to check the comment section to see what's going on. Plus, if you go scroll through the comment sections history, you'll see a ton of great information I provide for everyone.

On with the update!

A LOOK AT THE 4 REVISED DUNGEON BOARDS:

I had mentioned this last update that the proof copy of the game looked amazing the manufacturer sent us. I praised them for their outstanding work on putting a game like Dungeon Crusade together. This was no easy feat. They're a fantastic company with people who genuinely care about your game and will go to great lengths to ensure it is 100% perfect and accurate.

There were some very small issues we had to clear up. A few cards and tokens were cut slightly inaccurately, some brightness & color/saturation tweaks were in order, and there were extra quest cards, and an extra punch board included.

The very last thing we worked on and the main focus was getting all 4 of the dungeon boards looking a bit more brighter, colorful and more vibrant. I'm very happy to report that the 4 dungeon boards look incredibly awesome for the final game.

Right before my project manager and some of the staff from the manufacturer left for the holidays, they worked some overtime to send us all of the 4 revised dungeon boards for the game. So a few weekends ago we had a huge video and photoshoot to show everyone how fantastic they turned out. These will also be used for the upcoming ads and promotion of the game and announcing the closing of the Pledge Manager.

Here is a link to the video series I put together where I discuss each of the dungeon boards and give you a tour of each one. Forgive me in the first one, I was a bit elated and quite happy just for the fact the dungeons came out so fantastic and this was the final piece of content to tweak and adjust.

Here is the link to the companies YouTube channel for the playlist >>>  https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLHuoGWtNACPOymJnFrIj5vxZJa3gZSWRW

Here are some photos of each of the dungeon boards. I have a few more things to say about these after you take a look at them...enjoy! :)

Hopefully, you can see the time that we and the manufacturer took to adjust and tweak all of the dungeon boards genuinely paid off. Notice how the patrol routes really pop and are very colorful and vibrant.

However, we put some additional final touches on all 4 dungeon boards. The final dungeon boards for the game will be a bit brighter,  a bit more colorful and the patrol routes are going to stand out even more. I have been working with my good friend and amazing & talented artist Dean Spencer on putting another layer of patrol routes so they will pop out even more and have a nice glow to them.  So even if you are sitting back at the table, you'll see these very easily while playing.

RUNNING THE ADS, PROMOTING THE GAME AND THE CLOSING OF THE PLEDGE MANAGER:

With the game now heading into mass production, we will be focusing on promoting the game and getting some ads out there. Some of the great gaming sites have offered to help us out and spread the word about the game, which we are very grateful for. So the next few weeks are going to be busy ones while we work with the manufacturer and prepare some promotional material for some of these game sites.

One thing I'm very excited about creating and looking forward to is the spotlight series on Dungeon Crusade. This video series will be 2 - 4-minute videos highlighting many of the game's unique game mechanics, features and fundamentals. So in each of the videos, we'll be talking about something specific in the game and doing some quick edits to keep the focus on what's being discussed while I'll be doing a voice-over in the videos. It's hard to describe, but when you see how these turn out, I think you'll agree it's a great, professional and quick way to explain the game to people, especially those new to it and get them acclimated to it.

In the weeks to come, the pledge manager will be closed down. But there are no worries presently, as it will remain open. So if you have an open order, or still want to pledge, there is no hurry in getting in there to do so, there's plenty of time. You can expect many fair warnings before it is closed down for good.

Next week we'll be working with the excellent support team at Pledge Manager to update the Dungeon Crusade Pledge Manager page with some new images of the final game and a few other things. Here is a link if you would like to head over there...

Dungeon Crusade Pledge Manager page >>>  https://groovus.pledgemanager.com/projects/dungeon-crusade-book-1/participate/?ref=kickstarter

IN CLOSING:

I'll be here much more in the weeks to come letting you know what steps we are with the manufacturer for mass production as well as anything else going on with the game. And as I said at the start of the update, we along with the manufacturer and shipping company are keeping an eye on the coronavirus situation. Just like you, we all hope the experts can find a resolution to this situation and get it cleared up.

But you can count on us to deliver you up to date information on everything and anything going on. The game won't be shipping out until late March - April, so we hope by that time this situation is taken care of and eradicated, looking at it optimistically.

In closing, as always, we want to say thank you to each and every one fo you for your time, interest patience and support with the game. Hopefully, you can see by the revised dungeon boards and everything else you have seen, we, as a team and the manufacturer took the time to make sure Dungeon Crusade Book I: Genesis of Evil was right as rain for everyone and it meets but hopefully exceeds your great expectations for the game.

I hope everyone has a great Saturday evening and an awesome weekend. I'll be back very soon with you letting you know what's going on. Talk to you soon...Rodger :)

P. S.

I wanted to take the time to congratulate the truly amazing artist & great friend Shaun Ellis and share his Kickstarter project which has been successfully funded!

He's creating some awesome creative content for something called Zine Quest, and while a small project, he's already funded and has a nice start of a following for his project.

I would also like to mention that Shaun was the very first artist to help with Dungeon Crusade. WAY back, I had found out about Shaun and loved his art style.  I sent him an email and told him everything about Dungeon Crusade, and I was looking for artists to assist me in taking it to the next level.

Shaun got back to me and loved the sound of the whole project. From there, we started to put a few things together for the game and the rest is history. Just like all of the artists, his friendship is outstanding, and it was a serious pleasure to work with him and everyone else on Dungeon Crusade.

Thank you for everything you did for me, the game and all of the backers and people pledging for the game, Shaun. Your art is stellar as is your friendship. I'm super happy for you on your first successful Kickstarter, and I'm sure you'll have many more!

So have a look at Shuan's Kickstarter and enjoy!

The manufacturer is making their final adjustments, mass production starting soon followed by fulfillment!
over 4 years ago – Sun, Jan 12, 2020 at 09:14:47 PM

(PLEASE NOTE: This update was done on January 11, 2020. But as I have said in the past, there are sometimes issues with the update system on Kickstarter. Every time I saved what I was working on, it would erase it and any photos I had uploaded. I finally had to type up the update on a separate document, then today, it all started working again. So I apologize for the day delay.)

Hello all and Happy New Year to you! :) A highly energetic, elated and ultra driven Rodger here and it is incredibly nice to be here with you for our monthly Dungeon Crusade Kickstarter update. I've been looking forward to hanging out with you and sharing this particular update

But first, I want to say I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas with your family and friends and hopefully got some new board games to enjoy. Over here, we had a very awesome Christmas just spending quality time together.  I've been on the game for months now, so it was nice to slow down a bit and devote time to my family and enjoy the holiday.

LOL, but there I was on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year's Eve working on finishing up the review of the game and finishing up a few video series on the companies YouTube channel for everyone. As the title reads, we submitted the review of the proof copy of the game to the very awesome folks at Wingo Games and they are diligently working on clearing up a few small issues. When finished, Dungeon Crusade will be heading into mass production and then of course fulfillment.

Things such as a few cards and tokens were misaligned, brightness and color corrections and a few very minor things. We have had some video calls recently going over everything and they reassured us these were incredibly easy to fix, especially going into mass production now.

But as I have said many times about them, they did such an extraordinary job on putting a game like Dungeon Crusade together, so there were bound to be a few touchups in there.

We'll discuss this more below, but for now, let's get this update rolling along!

One last thing! I want to take the time to say a huge thank you to an awesome backer by the name of Mathew Hill If you're out there, Mathew, I hope you're doing great, and thank you for your kind words. :) I'm very grateful. That was very nice of what you said. You rock!

Here is a link to last month's Kickstarter Dungeon Crusade update for you. If you're new to the Dungeon Crusade universe or missed it, I highly encourage you to check it out.

This update shows the proof copy of the game sent to us by the manufacturer, and we discuss many things that pertain to it. This was one of the best Dungeon Crusade Kickstarter updates.

I'd like to say at this point at the end of the project if you have not seen the mega-ultra updates #92 (part I) & #93 (part II), or if you're new to the Dungeon Crusade universe, go and take a look at those updates first.

Those 2 updates show everything that comprises the game and stands a true testament of all the hard work, creativity, determination, perseverance, and passion that went into creating Dungeon Crusade for everyone to be immersed in, enjoy, and be challenged by.

THE MANUFACTURER IS CURRENTLY MAKING THE FINAL ADJUSTMENTS:

As you know, we received the proof copy of the game and it looks amazing! I praised the manufacturer for their outstanding work on putting a game like Dungeon Crusade together.

Small things like this are to be expected considering the size of Dungeon Crusade. But like I told them, we could consider this like building a race car. We take it out on the track, see how it performs, and bring it back into the garage to make some changes here and there to make it perfect.

We've been in constant contact with the manufacturer and we submitted the document to them on the necessary changes they had to make on it. I recently had a 2 1/2 hour video call with my project manager, and she was so incredibly nice, professional, and helpful.

During our time talking and explaining what was going on with the game, she would get other team members involved from various departments in the necessary changes that needed to be made.  She explained that some of the issues would not appear when the game hits mass production, which is incredibly close.

But we made sure to cover EVERYTHING that was noted on the proof copy of the game. One example is the cover art on the front of the box. It is just slightly shifted to the right. She said that it was a very easy thing to correct and made note of it, along with everything else we discussed.

I could tell there are quite a few people at the manufacturer from different departments working on and are involved in getting the changes made to Dungeon Crusade. This coming week we'll be conversing more and going over the adjustments that were made and making sure everything in the game is accurate and looking its best.

After reviewing the final changes, it is on to mass production. We will be promoting the game and running some ads announcing that Dungeon Crusade Book I: Genesis of Evil is now complete and heading into mass production. Chinese New Year is, of course, coming up, so we're shooting for mass production to begin in February. That will give us time to promote the game, run the ads and announce the closing of the Pledge Manager.

THE CLOSING OF THE PLEDGE MANAGER:

So as you know, there is an active Pledge Manager for Dungeon Crusade. First, there are no worries about the Pledge Manager closing any time soon.  If there is anything we get asked a lot about, it is this.

As I have always said,  we will be giving plenty of fair warning before it is locked down. But now with the game on the verge of entering mass production, we must discuss the closing of it.

We would encourage you that if you have a completed order, go into the pledge manager and check over your address to make sure everything is accurate.

If you're someone who has an open order, you do not have to close it out at this time, but when we announce the closing of the pledge manager it would be a good time to go in and close it out. Again, there will be weeks of fair warning and reminders throughout the closing of the Pledge Manager.

I plan on making quite a few updates just within the next few months to keep everyone in the loop of what's going on. So you won't be seeing just monthly updates, but a few during the next few months. So the closing of the Pledge Manager, or the fair warning rather will be within an upcoming update.

Lastly, the folks at Pledge Manager will be sending out a reminder to everyone in the coming weeks.

FULFILLMENT WILL BE PROVIDED BY SEND FROM CHINA (SFC):

I'm very happy to announce that fulfillment will be provided by the very good people at Send From China. For the past 5 months, I have conversed with and gotten to know my shipping manager Becky from Send From China.

Becky has been incredibly nice to deal with and is extremely knowledgable on shipping Kickstarter projects all over the world. She has provided us with every bit of information on fulfillment and the procedure.  She has shown Dungeon Crusade to her colleagues and they were very impressed with the game and have learned much about the game in the process.

Becky and I talk about 3 to 4 times a week about everything going on. She wanted me to relay to everyone that she is very excited about being a part of the project and ensured me she will be giving us constant updates on everything that is going on with shipping.  She is someone who is very committed to her job and making sure everything goes smoothly for all parties involved.

She wanted me to share some photos she sent me with you of her company and some of the packing materials they will be using to ensure Dungeon Crusade is safe and secure in the shipping process.

Becky and her team have been checking out all of the Kickstarter updates on Dungeon Crusade, so Becky, thank you for sending these photos to share with everyone. And thank you for everything you have done for us, and will be doing in the future.

One incredibly nice benefit that Becky pointed out is that one of their facilities is located right in Shenzhen China not far from the manufacturer who also resides in Shenzhen. So it will be very easy for SFC to pick the games up and get fulfillment underway.

In closing, Becky has assured me that she and her team will be providing us with up to date information so I can pass it along to you. As you may have guessed, as soon as mass production finishes up, SFC will be picking up the games and shipping will commence which will be late March - April of this year.

I would like to say thank you to Becky for everything she has done thus far, and the work you and your team will be doing to get the game out to everyone. I look forward to speaking to her tonight, throughout this coming week and the weeks ahead.

DUNGEON CRUSADE WAS #1 ON ROB OREN'S TOP 10 MOST ANTICIPATED GAMES OF 2020:

Some of you may know of the most awesome Rob Oren. Way back in the day, Rob found out about Dungeon Crusade and did so much for me, the game and really all of us to get Dungeon Crusade into the spotlight and get more eyes on the project. We did an interview with me and he has talked about the game on his channel, Rob's Tabletop World.

Well, to my/our surprise, he ranked Dungeon Crusade as his #1 most anticipated game of 2020. There were many other awesome games within that top 10, a few of them I'm looking forward to, but it was a great surprise to see Dungeon Crusade at the top of Rob's list.

THANK YOU, Rob. For everything, you do for us, but thank you for what you do for EVERYONE in the game community and your fantastic channel.  You provide incredibly awesome content on your channel that I love to tune into and see what you're up to. I recently watched your Space Hulk playthrough and loved it!

I would encourage you guys to head over to Rob's channel and subscribe. He has so many other great things on his channel. Painting tips, reviews, playthroughs and much more. Plus he's just got a super attitude, outlook, and personality.

Here is the link to Rob's Top 10 games he's anticipating in 2020 >>>  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l2SzDdyb-Tk&t=4s

A FEW VIDEO SERIES ON THE GROOVUS GAMES UNLIMITED YOU TUBE CHANNEL:

I wanted to share the channel here and make mention that a few video series have finished up from the last update. I'll list them below for you.

As we are moving into mass production and fulfillment, I have said I will be creating many video series for everyone to check out while we wait for the game. My goal is to teach people the game prior to receiving it. Some of the video series you can look forward to is:

- VIDEO RULEBOOK: In this series, I'll be going over the game and teaching people the various game mechanics and the fundamentals on how to play.

I mentioned this recently that I feel it is a creators/designers job & responsibility to create a video rulebook for the fan base of their game, especially for what some of these games fund for. I think the creator/designer, not a YouTuber, or someone else, should take the time and film a video rulebook for the people who bought their game.

Many gamers prefer to see how something is played and have it explained to them, so we're happy to do this for our fanbase. I have a very unique format I'll be using when I create the video rulebook for Dungeon Crusade, and I'm greatly looking forward to shooting this series.

- QUEST & SCENARIO CREATION:  As you may know, it is possible to create your own quests & scenarios in Dungeon Crusade to play and share with others. While the setup of quests & scenarios is easy, it takes some explaining on a few calculations that need to be made when creating your own quests & scenarios.

In this series, I'll be taking the time to explain all of this for the people who would like to create their own content.

- BRAND NEW PLAYTHROUGH:  Just recently, I finished up a very nice demo of the game. The demo goes over a full turn in the game, which consists of 5 phases: Upkeep phase, Encounter phase, Guardian phase, Hero phase, and the Monster phase.

I made sure to touch on many of the game mechanics and fundamentals of the game, to get you more acclimated to the game. There is so much more to Dungeon Crusade, but I think this game demo gives you a great idea and understanding of the innovative, creative, thematic, and fun experience Dungeon Crusade has to offer.

However, for this new playthrough in the near future, I've come up with a much improved, efficient and quicker format for doing a playthrough. I've taken some cues from a few other playthroughs I've watched, put a few ideas I liked together, and now, a full turn will only take about 3 - 4 minutes to show,

So through some quick editing, getting right to the point and with adding quick commentary over what is happening in the game, I think everyone will greatly appreciate and enjoy this new playthrough.

There will be a few other things I'll keep a surprise, but these are some of the things you can look forward to.

Here is a list of these recent video series for you to check out. Lastly, when heading over to the channel, it would help out the channel by subscribing to it. You'll notice a small button that says "subscribe", so just click it and that's it. You'll be notified when any new video is uploaded to the channel.

IN CLOSING:

Well, guys, we are about to truly close out a certain era of the game and move into a brand new one, and I for one am very excited, happy, optimistic, relieved and looking forward to an awesome brand new year with all of you as we receive Dungeon Crusade.

I mentioned this in a reply to Rob and would like to share this here also. In creating/designing/developing Dungeon Crusade Book I: Genesis of Evil, I truly set out to break the mold of the fantasy adventure/dungeon crawl genre and give fellow gamers and people a game that was innovative, creative. Immersive, thematic, and a good amount of ingenuity.

I have openly admitted many times, there was no rush job in Dungeon Crusade. I realize how many people are looking forward to this game with great expectations, and that means the world to the team that assisted me and myself.

Anything of quality & quantity takes time. Looking now at the final product, we genuinely achieved something special for gamers with Dungeon Crusade Book I: Genesis of Evil. I/we all of us for that matter are looking forward to heading into mass production very soon and getting the game shipped out to everyone with help from Becky and her amazing team at Send From China.

OK, guys, I hope you have a great Sunday. I'll be back, of course, to see how everyone is doing. Talk to you soon...Rodger :)

The proof copy of Dungeon Crusade has arrived! Deluxe unboxing video! A look at all editions and add ons! Introducing the Combat Chart app! Much more inside of update!
over 4 years ago – Mon, Dec 09, 2019 at 11:22:23 PM

PLEASE NOTE: All images & videos within this update are from the proof copy of Dungeon Crusade. Yes...it looks this awesome. :)

QUICK NOTE: All editions of Dungeon Crusade and the Hero Pack expansion with the 6 additional heroes WILL be shipping with clear plastic bases. Excuse the gray plastic bases shown in the photos below.

Hello all and good day to you!!!! :) Rodger here and it is GREAT to be here with you for this most excellent monthly Dungeon Crusade Kickstarter update. And yes fellow Crusaders of the Realm...you read that right. The proof copy of Dungeon Crusade arrived weeks ago from the manufacturer and IT IS INCREDIBLE AND AWESOME!!! :)

But before we get started with this quite mega-ultra update, I want to say HI! to everyone out there, I hope everyone is doing great, and for those of you who celebrate Thanksgiving, I hope you had a fantastic dinner with your friends and family.  Again, it's nice to be here with you.

Well, here it is. Dungeon Crusade Book I: Genesis of Evil. I cannot begin to tell you how busy it has been around here since last month's update.

So much has happened, gotten completed, playing Dungeon Crusade, working with my project manager and engineers at the manufacturer, the deluxe unboxing video series of the game was created, a video series where I go over each edition and add on in the game and let people know what each edition and add on consists of, the brand new Dungeon Crusade Combat Chart app... yes...Dungeon Crusade now has an app that will be hitting the Google Play store and the Apple app store in the future, photoshoots of the proof copy of Dungeon Crusade and so much more. But no worries! We are going to go over all of this for you.

This may be asked, or some people may be wondering this...

How did I feel when the box was cut open and saw Dungeon Crusade for the first time,

Well, soon to be the final version of the game. I opened the shipping box on camera, as you will see in the deluxe unboxing video series. I just felt ALL of us should see this at the same time.

But to be completely open and honest with you, I had so many racing thoughts, emotions, memories, thinking of you guys here on Kickstarter as in when we met, all of the years, even before you met me I had worked on this game and basically the thousands of hours, (yes, I believe it is in the thousands) of work that was put into this game by myself, the amazing artists and of course the manufacturer. It's something I WILL NEVER forget. It was just very surreal.

But I also felt incredibly elated, happy, even more determined, focused, strong-willed, invigorated, and just a feeling of great accomplishment. What was achieved with Dungeon Crusade is what I set out to do years ago. To break the mold of the fantasy adventure/dungeon crawl genre and give fellow gamers and people a very creative, thematic and innovative game experience.

When I started going over ALL of the content in the game, looking at it, reading it, punching out all of the various tokens, setting it up, playing it, etc, it truly hit me what an epic, fun, innovative, massive game this turned out to be. Every morning when I wake up, when I have time at night, I'm playing Dungeon Crusade. Yes, I had the prototype copy of the game, but when you have the REAL THING in front of you, it's MUCH different, and again, quite surreal.

I don't want to keep going and bore you,  so let me end with this..

I LOVE this game guys, and love it more each day. There is NO GAME I have ever played that comes close to the experience of what Dungeon Crusade has to offer in terms of the experience, the gameplay, the surprising and random nature of the game, the fun, the challenge, the immersion. the openness of the massive dungeons, the non-linear gameplay...LOL, I'll stop. ;)

Years ago, I said the phrase, "Dungeon Crusade Book I: Genesis of Evil. The world's first open-world dungeon-crawl board game. " I genuinely believe all of us have created just that, and have achieved something very unique and special.

Closing this out, I do want to say we are working closely with the manufacturer, as in my project manager and engineers on just a few slight tweaks we would like them to make. Very slight things like some alignment on some content and brightness and saturation.

I'm VERY hypercritical about Dungeon Crusade being 100% perfect for all of us. But as you will see from the photos and videos within this update, the game looks amazing and truly outstanding.

A HUGE THANK YOU AND KUDOS TO WINGO GAMES:

Before we get into the update, I want to take the time to give special thanks to my current project manager, my past project managers who are no longer with Wingo Games, the engineers and everyone at this excellent company for their hard work and diligence in putting together Dungeon Crusade.

I had mentioned back in September, I worked with them just about every night until very late my time on getting the proof copy of the game prepared and ready for printing. I can easily put myself in their shoes and imagine seeing this massive game come their way and of course, they were responsible for putting it all together to form the final game.

I have seen this game for years, and know it like the back of my hand. But for someone to look at ALL of this content the various folders, make sense of it all and put it together was an amazing feat. Kudos to you Wingo Games! :) We all greatly thank you for a job well done.

OK! On with this very excellent update!

Here is a link to last month's Kickstarter Dungeon Crusade update for you. If you're new to the Dungeon Crusade universe or missed it,  go have a look at that then come back here.

Those 2 updates show everything that comprises the game and stands a true testament of all the hard work, creativity, determination, perseverance and passion that went into creating Dungeon Crusade for everyone to be immersed in, enjoy and be challenged by.

AND PLEASE REMEMBER! CHECK THE COMMENTS SECTION!

I want everyone to know that's reading this that if you see a delay in the updates check the comment section. I'm in there almost daily or every few days giving everyone updates on what we are doing, what we're up to, what's getting completed, news and just everything Dungeon Crusade.

In any case, I just wanted everyone to know to check the comment section to see what's going on. Plus, if you go scroll through the comment sections history, you'll see a ton of great information I provide for everyone.

On with the update!

THE ARRIVAL OF THE PROOF COPY OF THE GAME:

So a few weeks back, the proof copy of Dungeon Crusade had arrived, and needless to say, I and many other people were incredibly happy to see this arrive.

However...something peculiar happened I must tell you about...

We are led to believe that a powerful spell or hex was placed on the sample copy of the game. Let me explain...

I was in the kitchen cooking dinner that evening. I heard a low rumble, like thunder. I looked into my living room, and the sample copy of the game started emitting a thick green mist that spread throughout the room.

Then, all of a sudden, a Level 2 Skeleton Warrior (elite) materialized in my living room. This monster is versed in physical, mythical, and arcane warfare. When it saw me,  it began to lurk towards me...kinda like an ex-girlfriend from high school that won't let you go...

As any true Crusader would do, I grabbed my Blade of Culinary Grace (+2 Damage/ +3 to Mythical warfare rolls)  and my Rolling Pin of Death, Doom & Destruction (+2 Damage / +2 to Physical warfare rolls).

My dogs were barking like crazy! But no worries. The dogs and I are unharmed. I slew this monster with the quickness.

To my surprise, upon killing it, it dropped some loot! I got an epic tiered sword, 200 gold, and 4 Lifeforce tokens. Not too shabby for slaying an undead skeleton warrior within my home.

LOL, anyway, we would like to greatly thank Wingo Games and my awesome project manager Dric for getting the game here so quickly. Outstanding work once again! :)

THE DUNGEON CRUSADE DELUXE UNBOXING VIDEO SERIES:

As I promised everyone, here is the deluxe unboxing video series. I truly felt as the creator, it was my job and responsibility to do a grand unboxing of the game for everyone who is looking forward to it, demo a little bit of the game, and show off all of the content that we all worked very hard on. I highly encourage you to check it out at your convenience, as I think you will genuinely enjoy it.

In this series, I unbox the sample copy of Dungeon Crusade and going over various things, such as:

 - The box being opened and going over every piece of game content

- Some demos of various game content. Combat, quest setup, 2 of the House of Chance games, Tower Attack and Skull Jack, and much more.

- Discussion over various aspects of the game

- Breaking down the games punchboards

- Recommendations on storage solutions for the game

This video series, in particular, brought in many new fans into the game who had not heard of this before. So if you are one of those people checking out this update, we greatly thank you for being part of this huge Crusade! Welcome! :)

I made sure to create this series so it was entertaining, informational, interesting and engaging for you.

Here is a link to the Dungeon Crusade deluxe unboxing video series:  https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLHuoGWtNACPPjUyoRREzke7vhMpgeJvgl

During this series, I managed to take some great photos of the various game content from the proof copy of the game. So check'em out!

DUNGEON PHOTO:

Pictured, Melhliak (barbarian) and Ennwyn Shadowleaf (archer) taking on a Skeletal Grunt (elite). Pictured also is the 3 warfare types the Skeletal Grunt is versed in:

- Physical

- Mythical

- Arcane

We can also see the heroes fetch hound, Albus in the distance.

A CLOSER LOOK AT ALL THE CONTENT WITHIN THE DUNGEON CRUSADE UNIVERSE:

During the unboxing video series, I broke the whole game down, punched all of the various tokens out of the punchboards, stored all of the various tokens in plastic compartment trays and made sense of how to store the dungeon tiles, boards, cards and books within the game box.

Notice the first picture above is the entire game, (add ons included) spread out all over the table, but then the second picture is the whole game stored within the game box and in the plastic storage compartments. As I have said all along, all of the Dungeon Crusade content WILL fit in the game box. Everything is completely manageable and looks great.

Here is a closer look at all of the game content for Dungeon Crusade...

STORAGE SOLUTIONS FOR YOUR TOKENS, MARKERS, DICE, CLIPS, PLASTIC BASES, ETC:

I have talked in the past how I was going to recommend the best way to store the game, so here you go! You can find those plastic storage compartments on Amazon on the cheap. You'll need (2) of the 36 compartment ones and (2) of the 18 space ones for the various tokens, markers, plastic bases, and dice for Dungeon Crusade.

HOW TO STORE DUNGEON CRUSADE BACK IN THE GAME BOX:

I took the time to take some photos of how you can store everything back in the game box. So please refer back to the top image where everything was laid out on the table, and here it all is packed away in the game box.

DUNGEON PHOTO:

Here we see Sir Brennus (Knight hero) and Zeek Utar ( Wizard hero) have entered into a chamber within the Upper Bailey on the Castle Blackwood dungeon board.

Within this chamber was a level 1 monster token. Drawing from the level 1 Champion Monster deck a Sister of The Faith (non-elite) was drawn.

Please note, a player will NEVER know what champion monster lurks within the chambers of the dungeon. They may possibly know the level. but sometimes not. Beware, Crusader! ;)

Non-elite monsters and creatures in Dungeon Crusade have their origin stories I wrote for them, while elite monsters have some quite nasty special abilities.

A Sister of the Faith is a member of an evil faction in the game I created called The Faith."  There are many other creatures & monsters you'll discover in the game who are a part of this evil cult.

The Sister of the Faith is versed in the following warfare types:

- Physical

- Chaos

- Spiritual

THE  VILLAGE BOARD:

I'm in the land of Avalon pretty much 24/7,  and usually residing in the glorious village of Hunter's Watch. GOD...it's so beautiful this time of year here...

Anyway, when I woke up one morning, I went into the heart of the village and snapped a photo of the new weapons, armor, and gear the blacksmith just got in.

I toyed with the idea of paying  700 gold for the Eye of Life, a rare (blue) piece of gear. This necklace will restore 3 health to a hero anytime. However, it must then be channeled but can be unchanneled during the Upkeep phase by paying 2 Lifeforce.

THE 3 EDITIONS OF DUNGEON CRUSADE AND THE ADD-ONS BEING OFFERED:

This video series was requested by many people and was very well received. In this short series, we take a look at what comprises each edition of Dungeon Crusade, then show the add ons being offered at this time.

The very last video in the series is where I discuss the many ways to play Dungeon Crusade. While the official rules say to play with 6 heroes, there is a very easy mod players can do right out of the box to play with 3, 4, 5 or 6 heroes. However, if you are receiving the hero pack which contains 6 additional heroes, you can use 8, 10 or 12 heroes to play Mega-Dungeon Crusade.

I'm working on a few scenarios and quest cards on the side where you will be able to download these for free and play Mega-Dungeon Crusade with 10 or 12 heroes.

But hopefully, in that last video, you'll see just how customizable Dungeon Crusade is and will allow you to create any type of quests & scenarios you would like to play with as little as 3 heroes all the way up to 12 for Mega-Dungeon Crusade.

Here is the link to the playlist on the companies YouTube channel. Enjoy!

DUNGEON PHOTO:

Here we see our heroes Melhiliak, the Barbarian hero and Faith Ellysia, the Cleric hero taking on one of the guardians in the game Banevik, deep within the Cavern of Lost Souls dungeon board.

We can see Banevik is versed in Chaos warfare, Physical warfare and Mythical warfare.

You most certainly want to rally heroes together to take down the guardians of the dungeon...

INTRODUCING THE DUNGEON CRUSADE COMBAT CHART APP:

Here is the debut video for you to check out...

This special reveal for Dungeon Crusade is something I'm very excited about and very eager to get it into everyone's hands before Dungeon Crusade ships out. What we are going to look at is something I call the Combat Chart App.

For the past few years, I have wanted to create this app for people to use while playing Dungeon Crusade. My creative gears are always in motion to create innovative things for people to have fun with.

Please understand, this app IS NOT REQUIRED to have to play Dungeon Crusade, but rather this app enhances your experience while playing.

What this app does is it takes the place of the 6 warfare tokens in the game and the combat chart. The app handles all of the combat except the roll of the warfare dice and placing the 3 battle tokens.

You can expect tomorrow night; I'll be doing a lengthy demo of the game and will be using the Combat Chart App within the demo to discuss it and for everyone to check out. I'll leave a link in the comment section below for the playlist.

If you notice in the posters, I crafted a device that holds your phone; then, the device secures to the back of the dice-box. In the near future, I'll be doing a workshop video to show you how to create a Dungeon Crusade dice box and this device that will hold your phone.

I must throw a massive spotlight on my very great friend Ed Farias for his help in creating & developing this app. Ed is just a technical wizard when it comes to building apps.

I put together all the graphic designs/assets needed for the app and explained to Ed how all of this should function and play out. Ed took it from there, developed the app, added some effects then we teamed up to add some sound effects into it. And there you have it! The Dungeon Crusade Combat Chart App! :)

The app is incredibly solid at this point, but we may tweak just a few things on it. In the near future, we'll be getting it onto Google Play and the Apple App store for all the Crusaders out there. And the best part about it, the price will be $0.00. ;)

So thank you and kudos to you, Ed! You're plain out awesome and outstanding work on this app, my friend. :)

Here are some photos for you to enjoy of the Combat Chart in action...

Lastly, I created a playlist for this reveal on the companies YouTube channel. Here is the link for you, and in the next section I'll tell you what's going on

The reveal of the Dungeon Crusade Combat Chart app >>> https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLHuoGWtNACPOcaiZ4-xB_IQqDE63xqzRx

So with the reveal of the Dungeon Crusade Combat Chart app, I'm going to be adding a very cool mini playthrough later in the week where I'm going to run through a full turn and discuss just some of the features in the game.

I came up with a very good format on how to present this and I'm quite excited to begin playing and get you more acclimated to Dungeon Crusade.

So while I have the game set up, and for what you'll be seeing, I grabbed some very good high-resolution photos of what you can look forward to in this video series. I hope you enjoy. :)

IN CLOSING:

Well, all...we have in a way reached the end of the road in a way. This to me, was by far THE BEST Kickstarter update to dispatch. The game is done and I seriously couldn't be any more happy, thrilled and absolutely relieved.

Dungeon Crusade will be shipping out in early 2020. As you may know, we are currently working with the manufacturer, as in my project manager and engineers on just a few slight tweaks to some of the game content. Alignment on a few cards and some brightness and saturation tweaks. These are minor things that can be corrected very easily.

We are also reviewing EVERY piece of content, as in the images, text, etc to make sure everything is right as rain. I'm hypercritical about this game and quite passionate about it. I want this to be 100% perfect for everyone.

There are great expectations for Dungeon Crusade, and I personally want to make sure it meets or hopefully exceeds people's expectations. As I have said before, anything of quality and quantity takes time to bring to fruition. I hope now after seeing the final game, you can see why the game took a little longer to complete. I flat out refused to rush this game and give people a sub-par experience with Dungeon Crusade.

So we are looking to have all of the revisions into the manufacturer towards the end of December which will then lead us into mass production then of course fulfillment. I have been talking to a very nice woman from a great fulfillment service and they are very eager to partner with Groovus Games Unlimited for the shipping of the game. They have seen the game and they were very impressed with it.

And as I have said many times, the fulfillment service are the ones who will provide us with an accurate and solid date when to expect the game. But it will be shipping out in 2020.

But as you know, I'll be keeping everyone in the loop throughout this whole process.

OK, back to the Crusade grind over here for the rest of the night. I hope everyone enjoyed this quite mega-ultra, but awesome monthly update on seeing Dungeon Crusade in a very super close to final product. The game simply turned out amazing and for sure one of the most innovative fantasy adventure/dungeon crawl games out there right there. We ALL achieved something special here.

I hope everyone has a great evening, and I'll be seeing you in the comment section. Talk to you soon...Rodger :)

p.s. And finally...

Hey kids! Have you heard about the new House of Chance game for Dungeon Crusade that's sweeping the kingdom?

Introducing The Adventures of Bravely the Knight! Take control of the valiant hero Bravely as he descends into a deathtrap dungeon to plunder as much gold as he can for your heroes to spend in the village to purchase weapons, armor, potions, and more!

After putting 500 gold into the machine, Bravely may begin his venture into the depths of the dungeon.

But beware! While there is gold, a treasure chamber, and a long lost magic sword Bravely could discover, there are deadly monsters, creatures, traps, and a portal that could hinder Bravely on his perilous journey.

So prepare thyself, hero, for The Adventures of Bravely the Knight! Coming to a House of Chance near you.

(Please note: A hero must be 18 years of age to enter into the House of Chance. Please gamble responsibly.)

The manufacturer has completed the sample copies of Dungeon Crusade and will be shipping them out this coming week.
over 4 years ago – Sun, Nov 03, 2019 at 11:15:03 PM

Hello all and good day to you. :) Rodger here and I hope everyone is doing great.

Before we get started, I want to do something a little different. I kindly ask you to watch this most excellent video my project manager from the manufacturer sent me last week...

First off, I hope you enjoyed that. So as you can see and hear, the manufacturer has completed the sample copies of Dungeon Crusade, and the game looks outstanding.

She also mentioned in the video the game was in the QC phase which I'm very glad they took the time to do. But on Friday she informed me that this been finished. We are now selecting the courier who will be delivering the games to us. The games are shipping out this coming week.

She also provided me with a huge assortment of new photos from the QC phase of the game so you will be seeing those later on in the update.

I'll be chatting with my project manager very soon and I, of course, will let you know all the details on when we will be receiving the games. We have a lot planned in the near future with the sample copies of the game such as the unboxing series, the video rulebook, the spotlight series and of course a brand new playthrough.

As a side note, you may want to remind that video and watch it again. Take notice of how nice and thick the dungeon tiles are. I insisted we have thick dungeon tiles for the game, and the manufacturer came through for us. We greatly thank them for this!

So I wanted to start this update off with this most excellent news. I am/we are just very excited, thrilled and most of all relieved the hard work is done and the game is now put together and ready for the mass production phase.

But as I said at the top of the update, I hope you everyone is doing great and had an awesome Halloween if you celebrate it. I can tell you on the Dungeon Crusade front it has been extremely busy still. I've been keeping up with everyone here in the comment sections, on the official Dungeon Crusade Facebook page and creating new videos for the Dungeon Crusade video update series on the companies YouTube to keep everyone in the loop there.

A WORD ABOUT THE MANUFACTURER:

I mentioned this in a comment, but most certainly wanted to share it here in the update. Now that game is done, it may not matter, but I want people to know what it took to get here.

I genuinely think the manufacturer was under the impression they could have gotten the game done much quicker before the submission process. But when my project manager and engineers saw everything during the submission process, they saw how huge Dungeon Crusade is.

You have to imagine seeing ALL of this game content in folders for the first time and arranging all of it on various templates. It was a mighty task. I've looked at this content and assembled it for a while now, so I know it like the back of my hand and now know everything should be for the final game.

They had "fresh eyes" looking at ALL of this content and making sense of it and forming it into a final game.

I discussed that during the month of September, I was working with them and assisting getting all the content organized and explaining things to them. They are 12 hours ahead of us.

So at 9 p.m. my time, until 1-2 a.m., I was conversing with them in emails and messages, getting all their questions answered, and assisting them in preparing the game. On the weekdays, my day starts at 5:45 a.m. September was a quite grueling month and schedule, to say the least.

Considering the other projects/games, they are committed to, and were working on before Dungeon Crusade was submitted; they did their best to get the sample game done for us. I'm very grateful to them for the hard work they put in on working on the sample copies of the game.

Also, consider that at the start of October was Golden Week in China. They were shut down for a full week.

If you remember, a very awesome artist and friend named Cole assisted in preparing the punchboards and a few other things for submission. Cole has done other board games and knows the whole process. He told me, and I shared what he told me, that the submission process and putting the sample game together does take some time.

But the nice thing is now the sample game is finalized, it's locked in, so to speak. Meaning, the hard work has been done. All they have to do is begin mass production. And they have told me on a few occasions mass production will take 30-40 days to complete.

I have nothing but respect, patience and good things to say about Wingo Games. This was a challenge to put a game like this together, and from the video you saw and the photos deeper in this update, you must agree, the game looks absolutely incredible. I personally thank them greatly for their hard work and diligence in getting it completed for us.

OK all, let's get on with this update!

In any case, I just wanted everyone to know to check the comment section to see what's going on. Plus, if you go scroll through the comment sections history, you'll see a ton of great information I provide for everyone.

On with the update!

THE DUNGEON CRUSADE VIDEO UPDATE SERIES ON THE COMPANIES YOU TUBE CHANNEL:

After update #100, I wanted to create a video series for everyone where I could pop in every 10 to 14 days and provide information, explain some of the gameplay, show the evolution of Dungeon Crusade and now of course deep within the manufacturing phase. Most of you know how passionate I am with keeping everyone in the loop constantly.

It is critically important to me that you guys and everyone pledging for the game know what's going on behind the scenes and what we're up to.

This new update series has been very well received and has exactly done what I wanted it to accomplish which is show people everything that goes on and has went on as we are wrapping up the game.

There is so much great information & gameplay explanation you'll learn about. I also fully discuss and show preparing the hundreds upon hundreds of cards for the manufacturer, the various punch-boards and all of the photos and video from the manufacturer are within this series.  It would take so long to explain it all within this update. So I highly encourage you to please watch it at your convenience.

This video update series will continue for months to come with adding more videos to it as we progress further to the end of the project. I'm huge on customer service, and to me, this further reinforces my commitment to everyone looking forward to Dungeon Crusade.

I have added many videos within the month of October of everything that has been happening with the proof copy of Dungeon Crusade and a few other surprises, so please check these out when you have a chance. I think you'll enjoy them.

AN ASSORTMENT OF NEW PHOTOS SENT BY THE MANUFACTURER:

These first set of photos are the most recent ones my project manager sent me. They were taken when the game was within the QC phase.

I want to sincerely thank Wingo Games again for their hard work and diligence on putting this beast of a game together and having it look this good. Notice how clear, vibrant, colorful, and bright all of the game content looks. Outstanding work indeed.

Let me stop here for a moment and explain about the dungeon boards in the game for you....

I/we tried to create the dungeon boards to be one huge game board with multiple folds. Unfortunately, the manufacturer can't do a game board at 3 x 2 feet, (the size of the dungeons). They can do one a few inches small than those dimensions.

So we are going with what designed from the outset. Each dungeon board will be made up of (6) 12 x 12-inch tiles. So you will put the dungeon boards together like so...

Ancient Ruins dungeon board is being pictured...

And as I said, no worries at all on the dungeon tiles. These are nice thick tiles. I'm very particular about everything in this game, and I know the importance of thick tiles.

Punchboards...

Here is the Avalon Adventure board game board...

The Village Board and the dungeon u. i. board...

There are more new photos the manufacturer sent over during the month of October below,  but first I wanted to post the videos they have sent. Some you may have seen before....

These last set of photos are from a while back, but I thought you might enjoy seeing them again...

So there you go! I hope you enjoyed taking a look at how Dungeon Crusade came out. They did such a fantastic job of putting the whole game together and having it look this incredible.

A COUPLE OF SPECIAL VIDEOS FOR YOU:

For the past few months, I've been wanting to create a few videos for the game for when we announce the closing of the pledge manager and where we will be running ads and promoting the game. So I took a little time here and there to work on both of these videos.

I managed to complete these in the month of October and would like to share them with you here.

THE EVOLUTION OF DUNGEON CRUSADE BOOK I: GENESIS OF EVIL:

This video clocks in at over 9 minutes, and truth be told, it doesn't scratch the surface on how deep of an experience this truly is. What I mean is all of the lore, quests, scenarios, the traps, treasure chests, encounters, the mining & crafting system, the Avalon Adventure board game, monster origin stories, all of the heroes, and so much more.

This is a game you need to have in front of you and play to see just how deep of an experience it is. But hopefully, you can catch a glimpse of this with this video I put together.

THE LEGEND OF THE BURNING BALLROOM:

I wanted to share a new type of video I've never done before for Dungeon Crusade. Since the game is within the manufacturing phase, and we are waiting for the proof copies of the game, I thought I'd share just one of the 60 unique quests I wrote for the game.

The quest we will be looking at is entitled, The Legend of the Burning Ballroom. The locations involved with this quest can be found west in Avalon with the heroes defending the village of Hunter's Watch and an abandon, decrepit, and monster-infested castle known as Castle Blackwood.

A couple of things I would like to say in the creation of the 60 quests for Dungeon Crusade is I didn't want to make them to short, nor did I want to make them too long.

All of the quests in the game come on quests cards that have the story I wrote for that particular quest on one side, while the reverse side has the objective of the quest and how to set it up.

Lastly, in creating all of these quests, I wanted to do something different for fellow gamers and people other than, kill, kill, kill monsters types of quests! LOL, I love those kinds of quests, don't get me wrong.

But I truly set out to break the mold of the fantasy adventure/dungeon crawl genre, so in doing so, it was important to me to design/create quests that do things differently for people and give them a brand new experience. I genuinely believe you'll be pleasantly surprised by them.

So I hope you enjoy The Legend of the Burning Ballroom.  There is also a link after the video that will take you to the reveal of all of the 60 quests in the game.

Here is a link for the reveal of the 60 quests for Dungeon Crusade >>>  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r08U2O5HeZE&t=5s

IN CLOSING:

I hope you enjoyed this most awesome update with the announcement that the proof copy of Dungeon Crusade is now final and will be headed our way.

I do want to take the time to address a few things for you.

THE UNBOXING VIDEO SERIES AND REVIEWING THE GAME:

So as you know, I will be doing a very thorough unboxing video series for everyone where I will be showing off every piece of content and doing some small demos of various game mechanics for you. I'll also be breaking the game down and recommending storage solutions for you.

These sample copies of the game will, of course, be used for the video rulebook series, the spotlight video series and of course for the brand new playthrough. These 3 things won't be happening immediately put a little further down the road. But I wanted you to know you have some things to look forward to while we wait for the game to be printed and delivered.

Upon receiving the sample copies of the game, I'll be spending every day from morning until night reviewing everything in the game. I also have a team of people that will be assisting in this process. We are shooting for a week to 10 days for reviewing everything in the game. We, of course, want everything right as rain, so we will be paying close attention to everything to make sure all of it looks its best.

FULFILLMENT:

Wehave touched on this in the past, but now with the sample copies of the game in hand, we will be proceeding on lining up the delivery of the games. We've been speaking to a few fulfillment services on the delivery of the game, and we will be announcing in the near future details on delivery of the game and a solid date when to expect the game provided to us from the fulfillment service.

When we partner with the fulfillment service, they are the ones who will provide an accurate date when to expect the games.  As I have always done, I will be keeping everyone in the loop and providing every bit of information as we receive it.

Rest assured, we will partner with a service that can get the games to everyone quickly, but also safely and securely, which is, of course, something we all want. It is also worth mentioning that the manufacturer will have the games finished by CNY and will be ready for shipping.

Lastly, I want to say that I'm very excited, thrilled and most of all relieved the game is FINALLY done, as in the sample copy of the game. The submission process and putting the game together was most certainly very time consuming and basically a tough task to get completed. But, it's done.

I'll be stopping back in and letting you know how the shipping of the sample copies of the games are going and when we can expect them. I/we would like to thank EVERYONE again for your time, interest, patience and support with Dungeon Crusade. It was genuinely a long journey, be we are very close to the end of it.

I hope everyone has a great evening and an awesome upcoming week. I'll be talking to you very soon...Rodger :)
